RULE OF LAW PLATFORM GATHERS CENTRAL ASIAN AND EUROPEAN STAKEHOLDERS IN ASTANA 10 April 2017

Under the auspices of the EU-Central Asia Rule of Law Platform, the European Union held a Senior Expert Meeting in Astana, on 27 March 2017. Led by senior representatives of the European Commission and the European External Action Service, the meeting gathered senior experts from Central Asia and from the European Union who reviewed the achievements of the EU-Central Asia Rule of Law Initiative and considered strategic priorities in the area of legal and judicial reform in support of Central Asia’s economic development.

SUPREME COURT OF KAZAKHSTAN WELCOMES EU-FUNDED EXPERT ANALYSIS 7 March 2017

In cooperation with the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, the EU-Central Asia Rule of Law Platform conducted an expert analysis of a pilot court of justice of Kazakhstan. An audit mission of the District Court of Tselynograd (as pilot court of general jurisdiction) took place in Akmola region in September-October 2016.

On 9 December 2016, the Majilis (Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and the Platform co-organised a round-table on the draft law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on improving legislation in the field of intellectual property rights».

EU – Central Asia Rule of Law Platform held a Seminar on Public-Private Partnerships on 5 December 2016 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, in support of the constitutional reform currently taking place in Turkmenistan, one of the objectives of which is to support the transition to market economy and the promotion of small and medium enterprises.
