EU PLATFORM PROVIDES EXPERTISE ON THE REFORM OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS TO THE MAJILIS OF KAZAKHSTAN

On 9 December 2016, the Majilis (Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and the Platform co-organised a round-table on the draft law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on improving legislation in the field of intellectual property rights». The Platform’s objectives in the context of the round-table were to (1) increase the knowledge of Kazakh specialists in new developments in international legislation and the legislation of a EU Member State, and best practices related to IP, and (2) provide a summary appreciation of the draft law with recommendations to improve it.
